Has anyone seen the trailers for his new movie, 'The Pick of Destiny'?

The trailer says, at one point "Jack Black is comedic genius!". During which time we witness Jack Black, well, landing on his groin on a branch and basically grimacing in pain.

How is that comedic genius? Even if you think it's funny, you have to admit it's not new or particularly intelligent. Certainly it doesn't qualify as 'genius'.

I know it's just a poorly timed voiceover, and I actually think Jack Black is funny (genius we could debate, but funny certainly), but still don't you think people at the movie company should have noticed that?

There's not really a question here, except to maybe wonder when the word genius got so watered down.

perhaps, the way the scene was set up qualifies as comedic genius?

I have never understood, nor been able to appreciate, slapstick humor.

Sometimes they cut trailers in nonsensical ways, ways that either ruin the movie or don't potray it how it actually is. Crappy trailers for good movies, great trailers for crappy movies, etc. I've heard the D's movie is actually supposed to be pretty good from people who think that the trailers for it suck. The bottom line is, trailer cutters try to market the film to the mainstream, and often make terrible decisions.

It's just a "supposedly funny film" that makes up a crappy made up story of how they formed their "comedy" metal band Tenacious D.

I think it's pathetic. How can you laugh at that?

I thought School of Rock would be enough.

I thought Pick Of Destiny was funny. I just like musical type movies I guess.
