I'm going to have to go with HD-DVD, simply because I hate Sony and their unending efforts to force proprietary formats down consumers' throats. :roll:

That said, the Blu-ray format is supposedly superior... I just hate it.

sounds like another case of Beta vs VHS

I'll stick with the DVD format

come on VHS is still going obselete!
I am not going to upgrade my dvd player like i would my computer.

There are DVD players that 'upconvert' regular DVDs to near-HD quality. I'll probably get one of these and live with it for a year or two until the HD format war plays out.

This whole thing is a joke. I don't even understand HDTV, you pay an extra 5 bucks a month and you get TV shows in high definition, so stupid. The picture quality is already high enough, it's not like it's distorted.

The ultimate break through is a DVD player that can heal the blind.
