I saw the movie a few weeks ago and I really like it. !No Spoilers People because you have to see it yourself! Tom Hanks always does a great job in some of films that is for sure.

Tom Hanks knows how to bring out his character well in the film. He will always be better than Tom Cruise for a lot of good reasons.

That's a random comparison. What made you select Tom Cruise? Did he star in a Dan Brown novel-to-film? Other than Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code I'm not aware of other films.

Angels and Demons is awesome! :D

Very gory though, I started to feel a bit sick round about the second murder...those are some seriously scary ways to get killed by the Illuminati! 8O

I liked it when they were speaking Italian, cos I'm learning Italian so I could understand some of it. :D

Tom Cruise wants his way or highway in some of the films he starred in. Tom Hanks on the other hand, bring his character fully: Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, Cast Away, and The Green Mile are some of the films that Hanks starred in. He was Woody in both Toy Story films (plus Toy Story 3) and the Polar Express where he voiced different characters.

I saw this movie as some friends were going (I am not fussy about what movie I see and will see anything) and thought it was just average. I figured out the baddie very early into the movie so the rest of the movie was very predictable as a result.

It's good though the book is better. (except for the ending which they changed - Tom Hanks was supposed to do some flying too and that would have been less believable).

Tom Hanks' hair behaved a bit better in this than in the Da Vinci Code but it still was nasty.

I wonder if there's any plans to do Digital Fortress? That was a rather cool book but I figure the movie will be difficult to make.

or... I noticed that he's got a new book coming out...

New York, NY (April 20, 2009) Dan Brown's new novel, the eagerly awaited follow-up to his #1 international phenomenon, The Da Vinci Code, which was the bestselling hardcover adult novel of all time with 81 million copies in print worldwide, will be published in the U.S. and Canada by Doubleday on September 15, 2009.

The Lost Symbol will have a first printing of 5 million copies, and it will once again feature Dan Brown's unforgettable protagonist, Robert Langdon. The announcement was made today by Sonny Mehta, Chairman and Editor in Chief of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group.

"This is a great day for readers and booksellers," said Mehta."The Lost Symbol is a brilliant and compelling thriller. Dan Brown's prodigious talent for storytelling, infused with history, codes and intrigue, is on full display in this new book. This is one of the most anticipated publications in recent history, and it was well worth the wait."

Brown's longtime editor, Jason Kaufman, Vice President and Executive Editor at Doubleday said, "Nothing ever is as it first appears in a Dan Brown novel. This book's narrative takes place in a twelve-hour period, and from the first page, Dan's readers will feel the thrill of discovery as they follow Robert Langdon through a masterful and unexpected new landscape. The Lost Symbol is full of surprises."

Angels and Demons might be the better choice since it is a box office hit after all.

It's a good adaptation of one of the best books ever written (in my opinion - less than 24 hours to read) and I imagine it was rather nasty for people who didn't expect what was coming. I thought it had a rather low certificate tbh.

I loved it. And the churches were so pretty. I'm not in any way religious, but churches are one of my favourite places.

My thought was it was stupid. I only saw the bomb part, but it's antimatter, and the quantity shown in the bomb would have been enough to be equal to a hydrogen bomb, if not worse. And I am not even getting on to radiation. Even if the blast was as small as shown in the movie, it would have killed every single living thing within a mile of the city. Just saying.
