Who do you like best? I like Spock myself.

I have never seen an entire episode of Star Trek, but I know who all the characters are.

Also, I noticed that Sulu is not listed as one of the choices.

Urghh..such a hard choice, I'm sure there's a law against this.

Kirk, not a lot to say about him really. Captain, has to intervene in the Spock/Mccoy bickering.
Spock, so logicial, could almost be an aspie. Pon Farr...a metaphor for meltdowns, maybe?
Mccoy, good too, especially with the Spock/Mccoy bickering and the 'I'm a doctor, not a .....' lines.
Scotty, 'I cannae change the laws of pyhsics', good as well.
Chekov, was good as well, even if everything is a Russian inwention according to him

There's actually an episode where Mc Coy does that routine, and Kirk says "You keep saying that. Are you a doctor or aren't you?"

Most definately Spock... or Mr. Sulu (what isn't to enjoy about someone who loves swords and botany?). McCoy is also an interesting character, though his personality is basically polar opposite from mine.

McCoy- the parts with both he and Spock are entertaining. To fully appreciate his character, one must see "Amok Time" (from season two)

Scotty- for not seeing much of him, he's awesome... Again, he's better in season two, except for the occasional very good part in season one.

Kirk- *raises an eyebrow*

Chekov- although he wasn't in season one, he was funny during season two. I enjoyed the scene on the Bridge between he and Sulu in "Amok Time" and seeing him on the space station in "Trouble with Tribbles".

Uhura- not much to say about her. I find her singing slightly annoying and her character to be trying when she tries to make conversation with Spock.

Reily- I think his character is worth mentioning, especially all the trouble he goes through in "Naked Time". :)

Sulu- one of my two favourites. The first episode I saw was "The Man Trap" and I couldn't stop laughing after seeing him with all the plants. He can be somewhat serious and reserved when on the Bridge, but he's also pretty crazy.

Spock is my other favourite character. I could go on and on about why, but I will spare you people.

This is tough. The big three are sort of a team. They come together. It's hard to think of them apart. My personal favorite is probably Captain Kirk. Now the most important element was probably Leonard Nimoy as Mister Spock. He received the most fan mail in the first season, and if you were going to keep one that would probably have to be it. With apologies to William Shatner, DeForest Kelley's Doctor McCoy would be the second key of the big three. Kirk wasn't well enough defined early on for the show to survive with a generic doctor.

Of the minor characters my favorite would have to be Scotty. After that Sulu, Chekov, and then Uhura (the singing was painful, although her lines were limited). Nurse Chapel was OK, although she had a good episode in the early first season in What Are Little Girl's Made Of? Grace Lee Whitney was OK, but unnecessary as Yeoman Rand. I saw her at one of my two conventions. She was the most entertaining of all of the speakers.

There was really only one reason for Yeoman Rand after all: fan service.

Oh... for characters who aren't mentioned often and only appear once or twice, I think Sarek is worth mentioning... for a Vulcan who isn't supposed to be emotional at all, he is incredibly sarcastic. After seeing both of Spock's parents, it is easy to see where he was influenced as a child...

(This is Journey to Babel, by the way...)
