Hi what's your favorite movie villain? Mine is the Great Dr Hannibal Lecter (especially Hopkins Lecter).

My little boy's favorite is Chef Skinner from Ratatouille. He likes him because he's short, too. When I'm cooking dinner he'll come up to me and grab my shirt and scream, "You are cooking in my kitchen??! !! How dare you cook in MY kitchen!! !"

Darth Vader or the Joker (Nolan Version). It's one of those two.

Darth Vader, without a doubt, because once you know his whole story, you realize what a tragic character he is.
Same reason also for Roy Batty, as his motivations are so understandable that you have to ask, is Batty the real villain here, or is Harrison Ford, who is hunting him in Blade Runner?

I agree with those who said Darth Vader. Off hand, I can say I also like Jafar, Hades, and Count Dracula.

Ah well. It *had* to come to this.

I tried with a top 10. Too restrictive.

I then tried with a top 20. Still too restrictive.

I then tried with a top 30. Still too restrictive, but it has to end *sometime*.

So here is my expanded list (no surprise in top spot, though):

1. Darth Vader (Star Wars)
2. Roy Batty (Blade Runner)
3. T-1000 (Terminator 2: Judgment Day)
4. Regan McNeil (The Exorcist)
5. Keyser Soze (The Usual Suspects)*
6. Hans Landa (Inglorious Basterds)*
7. Agent Smith (The Matrix)
8. Patrick Bateman (American Psycho)
9. Bane (The Dark Knight Rises)
10. Norman Stansfield (Léon: The Professional)

11. Hannibal Lecter (Silence of The Lambs)*
12. Anton Chigurh (No Country For Old Men)*
13: Auric Goldfinger (Goldfinger)
14: Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (Full Metal Jacket)
15: The Joker (The Dark Knight)*
16. The Terminator (Terminator)
17. Hans Gruber (Die Hard)
18. Vito Corleone (The Godfather)**
19. Gordon Gekko (Wall Street)*
20. Daniel Plainview (There Will Be Blood)*

21. John Doe (Se7en)
22. Captain Hook (Hook)
23: Hal (2001: A Space Odyssey)
24. Amon Goeth (Schindler's List)
25. Ivan Drago (Rambo)
26: Mr. Blonde (Reservoir Dogs)
27. Bill The Butcher (Gangs of New York)
28. Alonzo Harris (Training Day)*
29. Begbie (Trainspotting)
30. General Zod (Superman)

*Academy Award winning performance.
**Yep. Dey Got 2.

I just noticed that only two individuals on that list (Amon Goeth and Bill The Butcher) are real individuals.

And both Daniel Day-Lewis and Kevin Spacey are awesome villains. They both get two spots!

Anyway, I did not include Dracula, as he has been portrayed by so many characters that it makes little or no sense to list him.

Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom (Con Air)
