Have you ever watch a rated R movie in high school?

I've watch at least three movies in school that were rated R and we actually didn't send envelops to our parents while we were watching these films in freshman and sophomore years. Two of which had to do with the topics of the Civil War(Freshman year) and WWII(Sophomore year). Glory and Saving Private Ryan(The opening scene) were the two films my classes were exposed to in those years. After everyone was finished with the "Of Mice and Men" test in my English 10 class and the weekend before February vacation, the substitute teacher we had pop in Stand by Me. I'm sure if I were taking Life Skills classes like I did back in elementary and junior high I wouldn't be watching any rated r movie since those kids wouldn't gasp the concepts shown in those films I watched in school as well as dozens of other r rated movies.

Yes I loved Glory! We went to the movies to see it in 9th grade.
It was even more special because my school was part of the under ground railroad.

I watched an R-rated movie in Elementary School. My class watched Never Cry Wolf one time. There was a part where the main character was marking his territory.

my geography teacher in grade 11 had us watch Babel

Most of the content in R rated movies isn't to my liking, so no.

Edit: I also dislike movies for the sake of movies, regardless of rating.

I've seen at least 11 R-rated movies so far in my high school career. Since I'm taking AP Euro this year, I have a feeling that I'll be seeing more of that.

I don't know why the teacher decided to show us that movie. We were all running around the playground making fun of that scene for a week and a half.

A teacher would get into serious trouble over here by showing an R18+ movie in school. As if people my age don't see worse on the internet.

What do ratings matter? I mean come on! My kids watched R movies at home when they were 5! Forget the ratings, grasp the concepts your teacher wants you to grasp.

back in the stoned age when i was in high school, they didn't show movies in high school or any school for that matter [at least in my district], only the usual hokey educational films.

In a history class, I, along with my fellow classmates watched Munich.

Are you kidding? My mother used to rent movies like Freddie Kruger and American Horror Movie for me to watch when I was just five!

I never saw an R rated movie in school but I did see plenty of PG rated movies.

I'm surprised to hear that Saving Private Ryan is an 18+ film in the US. It was rated 15 in the UK and I can't think of anything in the film that would warrant an 18 certificate.
