Has anybody on these forums been or have tried to get on a game show?

I've considered it- either Jeopardy! or The Price is Right I'd try to get on; but it's quite far from where I am ATM. :(

Actually, in college I did a cable TV game show. They flew us down to Florida over winter break with free airfare and motel. Our team lost in the first round -- I think I had Aspie eye-hand coordination trouble with the buzzer -- but the three of us split $1000.

Jeopardy had tryouts here but I failed the initial test. The questions were impossible, but I think there was a trick to it because after I handed mine in and the woman said I failed I realized I didn't put my answers in the form of a question and did the *headsmack* "Oh!" thing, and she nodded. Then she shook her head like "Don't say anything."

I was watching Wheel of Fortune last week, and I think one of the contestants had Aspergers. He seemed angry when someone else won a puzzle he'd guessed most of the letters for. I don't blame him. I'd be too sore of a loser to be on a TV game show. I'd cry if I lost.

Not me....... if I won on TPiR in the showcase (and because the other contestant overbid), I'd hug him/her.

There is a wide range of quiz/game shows broadcast, some are entertainment driven, with an emphasis on the players, others are more focused on the questions as part of a competition.

I would expect people with AS to be better on the more serious shows as they need less social ability. Shows in which there is a need to be able to read the other contestants and work out their intentions would probably be worse for people with AS. More specialised shows (if in line with a special interest) could be particularly good.
