I've noticed a few Dr Who piccies on the site and think there may be quite a few Dr Who fans here. I'm not sure if it's shown in the US or other countries?

Anyway, who do you think was the best Dr Who? And which were your favourite aliens?

I think my favourite was Tom Baker, because I kind of grew up with him, but I thought Christopher Eccleston was brilliant and brought the character back to our screens with a bang.
The scariest aliens have got to be the daleks, with the cybermen a close second. I used to hide behind the sofa as a kid when they were on.

not only was he the funniest, and most eccentric but he was around for ages and most of the best episodes featured him, and most of the best companions aswell.

Tom Baker, with Jon Pertwee in second place.

Ecclestone had potential, but it would have taken longer to see what he could do.

The Daleks and the Cybermen both lost a little of the edge for being terrifying in their latest meeting.

Scariest ever? The episodes with the Yeti in the underground.

Maybe he was an Aspie :)

Looks like Tom Baker is the winner so far.

Sylvester McCoy was a bit eccentric too if I remember.

I have no distinct favourite, but rather several:

Patrick Troughton

Tom Baker

Peter Davison

Colin Baker

Sylvester McCoy

and the current one, David Tennant

I was running through all the Dr Who's in my head (as ya do ) and I was wondering, who was the quietest Dr, the one who almost slipped by unnoticed...the Zen Dr Who, must surely have been Colin Baker.

Mind you, I'm not wild about computers myself, but they are a tool. If you have a tool, it's stupid not to use it.

The Doctor, in "Inferno"

I don't know if I have a favorite Doctor, or favorite alien... I tend to like specific stories instead. Tom Baker was great, though. Especially liked City of Death, and the Keeper of Traken/Logopolis/Castrovalva series. The Eccleston and Tennant seasons have been very tasty. 8)

Admittedly I haven't seen any episodes with Patrick Troughton yet, and have seen only half of the Jon Pertwee stories. Peter Davison was alright; in addition to Castrovalva I really liked the Caves of Androzani, wow what a dramatic story!

Well before seeing the new series I would have said Tom Baker, but I've become very attached to Christopher Eccelston and David Tennant now as well. I guess I'd say, going from my very favorite to my least favorite: Tom Baker, Christopher Eccelston, Peter Davison, David Tennant, Paul McGann (I read the books), Jon Pertwee, Sylvester McCoy, Patrick Troughton, Colin Baker, William Hartnell (but I've only seen one of his episodes).

I think Caves of Androzani is my very favorite story (certainly of the pre 00's episodes)
