I wanna buy the dvd boxset of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers which is right here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-MIGHTY-MO ... 233062b141

But I live in the UK and I was wondering if it would work over here. I live in Monmouthshire and I have a Phillips Blu Ray player. There are also numbers but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give out that info.

You're based in Europe. Your DVD region code is 2. The Mighty Morphins DVD is 1. Of course, if your DVD player is "Region 0" then it's designated to play Regions 1-6. Here's the links about regions.

How would I know if it's a region 0?

Search for the model number.

Your Blu-ray player may or may not have the capability of playing Region 1 DVDs, but I know that mine, a Sony Blu-ray, will not play Region 1 DVDs.

I've had to hang onto my old DVD player just to play the American DVDs I have, because I was able to "hack" it for region free playing -- you find a code on the internet, enter it using your remote control according to instructions, and it simply reprograms the machine to accept all regions of discs. .

However, that's only for plain old DVD players, and I'm not sure Blu-ray players can be changed the same way. There are Blu-ray players that already come region free not just for Blu-ray discs but for DVDs too; you might be lucky enough to have one of those, but if not you'll need a DVD player for it.

If you don't still have your old one, the upside is that DVD players are quite cheap now that Blu-ray is starting to dominate the market.

You can buy one off the shelf for £20, man. It's nothing of a job.

I bought an external DVD drive that I hacked to make region-free for under £25 delivered.
