Peter Macnicol makes my list.
Image
You might know him from Ally McBeal, Ghostbusters II, the second Addams Family movie, and maybe 24. In my opinion, he's kind of underrated. He's known for playing quirky, neurotic nice guys, mostly, and something about him is just downright charming. He's been an Ensemble Darkhorse (look it up on TVTropes) of mine since I saw the first Mr. Bean film, one of those comedies from the late nineties that defined my childhood.

Voice of the Mad Hatter in Batman: Arkham City as well.

I mostly remember him from the episodes of Numb3rs I have seen. I had forgotten he was on 24 as well.

For me, I like Karl Urban, who seems to look different enough in most of his roles that most people probably don't realize they have seen him before, and the one major leading role he has had recently you never see his face.

Yep, he played the Mad Hatter in a very very disturbing light....

I've helped myself to the interview tapes a bit ago. Bravo, Mr. Macnicol.

Was watching the new TV show Hannibal, and the character Miriam looked familiar to me. Wasn't until about 40 minutes in when I realized it was Anna Chlumsky a.k.a. Veda Sultenfuss from the My Girl movies. Made me smile.

TIm Robbins...

Played a lot of movies.. Caddlilac man, Jacob's ladder, best known for Shawshank Redemption. Played a lot of shizpohrenic roles, but he's got a heart of gold. Recently thrown his tv out because the news jsut made him angry (he recognised that). Champion!

I love Zooey Deschanel, but she has a TV show (New Girl) now, so I guess she doesn't count.
Michael Cera, I haven't seen him around since Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I love how dorky and awkward he is in all of his movies.

Vincent D'Noffrio, who in fact has been diagnosed with Asperger's, is a favorite actor of mine. While he's gotten more attention in recent years, particularly with a starring role in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, he had gone years and years in the relative obscurity of character roles. He had also starred as author (and probable Aspie) Robert E. Howard in The Whole Wide World.

Jeffrey Combs.

Gets some Sci-Fi roles in TV including Star Trek, but would like to see him in more films. I think he could have been a great Bruce Banner.

For me, Jeffrey Combs will always be Herbert West, Re-Animator.

Doesn't he also play a mathematician in Numb3rs?
