Has anybody seen this film? A friend of mine says this about the film:

Quote:
Remember that a number of women are like the "Summer" character. Classification of girlfriend, and enjoyment of such isn't an exact thing. And the quality of relationship at times can have nothing to do with the 'public' classification. But anyway.. just live your life, respect others and don't worry what people choice to point out and comment about your life.

I have not seen this film; and it has to do with a relationship.. how can it help me?

Well, it is a funny movie but I'm not sure how that can help you.

I loved the film. Fun characters, slightly off the wall humour, occasional silliness and great soundtrack. In many ways it reminded me of one of my favourite movies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Not sure how it could help you but still would recommend it.

i don't see any special interests though

I can't see either of the main characters being autistic.

I seen it & I had an extremely hard time fallowing it. Half the movie was lots of little flashbacks of things & the flashbacks were mixedup. I thought the main guy was a little awkward & clueless at times but I never thought he might be autistic

Probably trying to say that you shouldn't hang out that long with a girl and think it is going to change and end up marrying her.

The message I got out of it is~ Don't be friends with a girl when you want a relationship & she doesn't. Otherwise you'll get closer & think there's something more & that she is falling for you but in reality that's not the case & then you'll end up majorly hurt.

All I know is that it features the greatest use of a Hall & Oates song in cinema history.

IMHO the film is basically about mismatch between Tom's expectations about love and the reality.

I felt so sorry for the guy. He was lovely and she claimed to not want a commitment to anyone, but then got engaged and married to someone else, very quickly. That must have been really horrible for him (she obviously just didn't want a commitment to him). Poor guy.

Example of nice-guy syndrome.

No it's sadder than that, I believe she genuinely did not want a commitment when Tom when was in the picture. Her relationship with Tom made her look at commitment in an entirely different. He made her into the girl he wanted but couldn't have....:/
