Seriously if you like monster type movies and found footage style the one movie that you have to see is Troll Hunter. Seriously the best found footage movie and totally beats Cloverfield in every way.

One catch is it is in Norwegian so reading subtitles is required unless of course you know Norwegian. lol.

Basically this group of three college students are trying to prove a theory about a legend that has been very popular in Norway in particular (as well as all of Scandinavia). Trolls are actually part of Norwegian folklore and stories about them have been told for generations.

Anyways the movie is very well done. And it moves along at a better pace than Cloverfield plus it is way more interesting. It does have the typical shaky cam at parts. But it looks like a professionalyl edited documentary and not home movie really.

Plus it actually shows quite a bit unlike other found footage movies like Blair Witch.

For some crazy reason my parents like flipping on that Finding Bigfoot show and of course you never see the creature. So I brought them Troll Hunter to watch lol.

At first they seem disinterested, but I think my dad actually enjoyed the movie and the odd names like the big Jutnar Troll.

Videodrome is an interesting movie. David Cronenberg. Had James Woods who is in fact from the town I live in Warwick, RI. He sued Kent County Hospital (in Warwick,RI) when his brother died there. He is a total a-hole in real life.

Anyone seen that new one by Brandon Cronenberg (his son) its called Anti Viral? There was quite a comparison to his father's work actually very similar style of movie.

Yeah David Cronenberg has such classics as The Brood, Scanners, The Fly, Naked Lunch to name a few.

Yeah they have a movie called The Lost Coast Tapes it is a found footage movie with aliens and bigfoot. It sounds corny but it was as well done as Blair Witch. Seems cheap but I enjoyed the movie. But they barely show either creature jut like they never show Bigfoot on those damn shows.

There is the famous one that most people know about. It is a black figure that looks not like a man or a bear but something like what Bigfoot looks like runnnig towards some trees. In fact this is where the concept of what it looks like comes from that famous video. Not sure where this video was shot. California?

I loved Troll Hunter - great fun.

I have a soft spot for monster movies and it reminded me of lots of fun movies I watched growing up - The Howling, Piranha, Alligator, Q The Winged Serpent, An American Werewolf in London etc.

I was/am a big fan of David Cronenberg. I've not seen Anti Viral yet though.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Pacific Rim this weekend- the reviews are just starting to appear and they're pretty encouraging.

Criminally underrated film, really good and feels like a cult gem.
