Ancient history when I last kicked my brothers ass with moves we imitated from those first series.

First one.

It was so corny it was too bad to not be good.

Everything after that series was just a changeover to keep young actors in the story and sell a new line of toys.

I remember watching it in about 94. I think then it was so cheaply made that when they went into morph the US aspect of the programme dissapeared and they used the Japanese footage to show the fights and Rita the witch. We used to laugh that they had called the witch that. But I liked the movie they did and the theme tune.

I used to love power rangers when I was little. I remember in preschool everyone would watch it and proclaim which character they wanted to be.

one little boy always said "I'm the monster"

One day as we were watching, I asked him "why do you want to be the monster? the monster always loses."

and before he could answer, I had a realization:

"wait a minute, that's boring!"

hated it ever since.

I never got into the Power Rangers franchise. I did, however, watch a little of the Mystic Force season, but only because the Red Ranger in that season was hot. :)

Happy to say that I'm a diehard Ranger fan! I've seen just about every episode up to and including Wildforce. My favourite season has to be "In Space", but I'm there's always going to be a special place in my heart for the original "Mighty Morphin'" seasons. Sure the acting was wooden and the jokes were puerile at best; but it had cool fighting and a kickass soundtrack and I loved every* cheesy, goofy moment of it! :D

* Except "Turbo" (damn, that sucked).

ZOMG, YES! I love PR!

My absolute favorite season has to be Dino Thunder. There was just so much untapped potential in the Dino Rangers' personalities and plotlines. Next favorite is RPM, of course, because...well, it's RPM. :D Then Lightspeed, since I like the whole Earth-based Rangers thing, and then individual story arcs.

Does anyone else think that Anton Mercer is an Aspie? If you look closely, he never looks anyone directly in the eye, he has no discernible facial expressions, he's clearly a very odd person socially, he comes across as very cold compared to the other characters, he's obsessed with personal honor and science, and he's reflexively secretive. It actually comes across as a bit like my version of neuroatypicality, which is ironic since I'm fairly sure a nineteen-year-old female writer has nothing in common with his character.

I loved the power rangers when I was a kid. The originals were great but then they started to mess them up. It'd have been best to just keep the originals.

I watched the original with the first Red, Yellow, and Black rangers, and Mighty Morphin (which was the best w/ the best movie!) before losing interest with Zeo and Turbo. I think I got into Big Bad Beetleborgs when the PR's were in space.

It's so funny whenever I watch the MMPR movie and see how cheesy it all was, but it's still entertaining. My brother pointed out to me that they would never stop moving their arms around while talking after they morphed.

I used to love the power rangers when I was a kid. I loved the first five versions(Mighty Morphin,Zeo,Turbo, In Space, and Lost Galaxy), but I got tired of it when I realise how cheaply produced it was. The best part was the Zords. I'm a big fan of Transformers and giant robots in general and the transformation sequences were always cool to watch.

That happens for some reason. How you love something and then years later, you see it again, and it all seems kind of cheesy or dumb or something. That happens to me when I watch an old telenovela again. The actors in them look so young, and the way they dress is so odd and different from the ones I watch today. That doesn't stop them from being entertaining, though. I think it kind of makes it more so.lolI never noticed their arms but now that you pointed it out, it's true. I actually always wondered if the costumes were for real.

They should remake the original Power Rangers into a blockbuster movie. Make it less corny and more serious, have things explained properly and use inspiration from other movies like X-Men, Spider-man, Iron Man, Transformers etc. I kinda find it hard to believe that a martial artist(Jason), a black dancer(Zack), a science nerd(Billy), a gymanist/goochie type girl(Kimberly) and whatever Trini is suppose to be are all a group of friends. It would have made more sense if they knew each other through being recruited as Rangers, sort of like the 3 Dino Thunder Rangers. Also the fact that Zordon chose "5 teenagers with attitude" so quickly instead of testing them or holding auditions is kinda wierd. These are some things I would consider changing for a possible movie. Despite the many flaws, still an awesome show.

I was completely obsessed with the green ranger from the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers back when that was on the air. How devastated and betrayed I felt when they changed him to the white ranger.  I'm pretty sure I even still have the "Green Ranger Miniseries" VHS collection in storage somewhere.
