Anyone else here watch X-Play? It's a game review show on G4 (and previously on TechTV before G4 bought out the network).
It's one of my favorite shows, and I've got a HUGE crush on Morgan Webb  (it wouldn't surprise me if other guys here have the hots for Morgan as well...)

I watch X-play sometimes; they give really good video game reviews. I don't think they like DBZ, though.

I don't watch it. It's reviews are horribly biased. Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 was given a bad rating just because it was a realistic FPS, whereas BF2 was given a good rating just because it was a semi-realistic FPS.

I also saw the review for Vietcong, and although it was given a 3/5 rating, one of the cons they pointed out was that sometimes you couldn't see who shot you.

WTF? It's a game set in Vietnam, so obviously cover and concealment is a highlight of the game. You can't expect to run in the opens and clearly spot a sniper hiding in the bushes before you receive a bullet to the head.

Reviews aren't always reliable since the games being reviewed aren't given much time for playing. But reviews shouldn't be biased.

It's fine if a deathmatch oriented game is given a good rating, but if that same reviewer wants to review a more realistic game, then the reviewer shouldn't expect it to be like a deathmatch oriented game and give it a bad rating for being slower paced.

PS: A little secret: I might watch X-Play just to see Morgan :)

Here's the video for the review:

http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/1198/ ... _4145.html

One of the pros listed is that it is a realistic game, but just watch the video and see how terribly biased it is and how they bash the game for being realistic . They still have some credibility for saying that realistic games are not their cup of tea, but it should still be reviewed fairly and not given a low rating.

The reviewer obviously took a "I just want to shoot people in the face" attitude, so someone else who is into realistic FPS should've reviewed it instead.
