For a while it's been announced that this movie may happen but recently there's been rumours about a possible plot and that the young Boba Fett who we saw in Attack of the Clones will be killed off and replaced by someone else and that would make us believe that the Boba Fett we saw in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi will be someone else. In my opinion I'm not so sure if I agree. I mean sure I'm not really a fan of Episode II and I heard the writer of this upcoming movie wasn't either which is why he might be doing this but while I can't really explain why I may disapprove of this I still may say that I have mixed feelings about this. I guess it has to do with the CGI Clone Wars animated series. Boba Fett did actually appear on that show and was trying to kill Mace Windu to avenge his father and he appeared again to lead a group of bounty hunters. It was actually pretty cool and I would like to believe that he would become the Boba Fett we knew in the originals. If all this happens then it could kinda ruin it, for me personally. I mean maybe it could actually work, I still a bit open minded but I still have strong mixed feelings towards it.

Having Boba Fett be a clone that gets killed off and not the same as the one in the originals doesn't make any sense to me.

I imagine they'll just ignore the prequels rather than self-consciously distancing the new film from them. After all, this is meant to be a fresh start.

Yeah, sounds like they want to make things needlessly complicated.

Boba Fett was only considered cool by fans before AOTC, or maybe that's just me.

KOTOR had a better story than any of the prequels, they should make that.

In the meantime, this is the best thing Starwars since 1983.

Everyone in the world needs to see the RedLetterMedia reviews of Star Wars, those are hilarious.

P.S. Boba Fett was considered cool well before AOTC came out, like the unsung badass of the trilogy that barely spoke.

Even though he screamed like a girl when the Sarnack swallowed him?

Yoppah. Because of him being liked by fans, he had many appearances in games that were made before the new trilogy. So he had appearances in the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, that started around 1995, and got a more important part in the "Shadow of the Empire"-series that was a Multimedia experiment of Star Wars. (So they released a comic series, books and video games about it, that all told specific parts about the stories that happened between Episode V and Episode VI.) As well that he had his appearances in the extended universe by the "Tales of the Bounty Hunter" book, "Tales of Jabba the Hutts Palace" and there was as well a book trilogy, that was about the hunt for Han Solo and how certain fractions tried to trick him about that. Just as there were some comic series about him hunting. ("When the fat lady swings." and others.) He and generally the mandalorian culture appeared as well sometimes in the books of the Star Wars novel writer Christie Golden, but sadly, when that animated series appeared, it conflicted with the extended Book series, and Christie Golden was a bit pissed off, because of that.

So he already had a big fanbase, before the trilogy and the animated series. ^^ I think the liking of him, according to the extended universe stuff (I dont really know the animated series, I found it a bit boring.) he is not really a bad guy, but simply someone being very pragmatic.

Out of that point, I dont think that any rumoirs about them killing a character, that has tons of fans, whose money they want ^^, are really true. As well the old fans AND young fans would be really pissed off, by them doing so. XD

What I have read about in the reddit Star Wars forum, is that they might change the appearance of the actor. So in the new films the actor seemed to have some kind of mixed or hispanic ethnicity, so he was a bit coloured (My english is bad, if I expressed that in any offending way, please tell me and I will change it.), while it seems that they are now thinking of turning him into caucasian, which would be according to the classic extended universe background.

It was just the way he just stood around all silent and looked cool, like a bodyguard or Secret Service agent. With a jetpack. Apparently he was cool enough to get his own book and comic series.

I know, I'm just kidding. Actually, in one of the Star Wars novelizations, he repaired his jet pack, and just flew out of the Sarnack's mouth to make Han Solo's life miserable again.

That would actually be a good side story in one of the upcoming Star Wars movies.

Also it's terrible that Boba Fett never got his own console video game. Jango Fett got one, why can't he?
