Also does it ever make you feel isolated?

Story of my life.

Finding others with the same interests is difficult, especially romantic partners (my favorite TV shows have fanbases that are overwhelmingly male).

My tastes in television don't make me feel "isolated", but they do frustrate me when I'm channel surfing, as it seems like every damn show that's on nowadays is another lame sitcom or reality show. I really need to get a Netflix account so that I can start filling up on good anime and series like my friends do.

You totally should get a netflix account, I just used my netflix to watch the entirety of the modern Doctor Who.

Reality television is the bane of my existence. Well, one of them. My mother keeps trying to get me interested in the Real Housewives of Girls Next Doors of Kardashian's Rich Kids of shoot myself in the face, seriously. I don't care about any of these people or their pointless drama. Seeing other people be simultaneously unintelligent and overly entitled annoys me, it does not whatsoever draw me in. Give me a season of TEDtalks on netflix or a good documentary, or even the Joy of Painting with Bob Ross, but that stuff is just.... meh.

I miss the Discovery Channel's old programming, back when they did more stuff about science and nature and technology. I also really really miss the offshoot "Discovery Civilization", which had all sorts of fascinating shows discussing human history and psychology.

Yes. I can't stand those shows. Sorry, but the only thing that is more boring than golf for me, is watching someone else dig for something they don't find while making a half hour of speculative conversation that's edited together to create some contrived illusion of a 2 minute drama which is peppered with commercials. I remember being 7 and unbelievably excited to watch the special on the Discovery channel about babies developing in womb with my mother. Those programs about history and psychology are what laid the groundwork for the life long fascination I've had with both subjects. I even took 4 years of classes in psychology and helped to write the final for my american history class in school. This stuff is all crap now, though. I wish they would leave the reality tv to channels like E and Bravo and keep the educational channels... educational.

Sometimes I grab onto anime that are not thought of very highly, even within the internet communities I go on. One was a show called Sengoku Collection, where I ended up being the only one talking about it in the forums I go to. It made me feel a little isolated.

Rarely can I find other people that have a strong interest in Supernatural, I think that it is not that popular among other guys and the girls I do just happen to talk about it with have no interest either. When I finally had enough with all the cop/detective shows that everyone in my family liked, I did not care for Bones, NCIS, CSI, Castle, really any of those.

I often feel very isolated regarding my entertainment choices. There's very few movies my mother or sister will even watch with me, and my friend Robert is mostly into horror, which I can't stand anymore. :(

Yeah same thing with me and the History Channel. It used to be cool stuff like Modern Marvels and Battle 360 and awesome biographies of historical figures which always made me happy to tune my TV to. Now it's old people trying to sell older stuff and calling it history.

I do feel alone in my television interest, no one in my familly is interested in anime, more so some anime I'm interested in are not very know and popular. How many peoples care about 3000 Leagues In Search Of Mother? Not much...

Only in the sense that I'd like to watch reruns of Buffy, Dollhouse, Pretty Little Liars, Ally McBeal, Pacific Blue, Nikita, La Femme Nikita or Smallville but 99% of TV nowadays is reality garbage, lame sitcoms like 2 1/2 Men, Law & Order or CSI....

And as much as I love Friends, Castle, Bones, Phineas & Ferb and Boy Meets World there's a limit to how much I can watch in a day before I get bored.....

Glad I have Netflix and Hulu.....and that I enjoy watching playthroughs of video games on Youtube ( preferably not Let's Play videos....I prefer to hear the game personally )

For the longest time, I felt alone just because I liked children's cartoons, even in my teenage years. Fortunately, I learned that there are several online communities that enjoy discussing the various cartoons I've watched for the first two decades of my life. Unfortunately, I find it harder to get into newer cartoons. Not only am I (trying to be) looking for a stable job, but the commercials for these new cartoons really irk me. Now I mostly read fanfics about my favorite cartoons and look at original webcomics.
