I saw this film last night. Absolutely wonderful anime! I recommend if you have not seen it.

I've seen the movie. It has a great story and great characters. I love the look of the anime too. Interesting message about hatred, which he had in the form of a disease that was *literally* eating him alive.
If my memory serves me right.

One of the very few animes I've seen, and it's definitely a great one.

It good I guess, I could say that it got me closer into deciding to watch more anime, though personaly I feel that the studio ghibli films are a fairly slow and I kind of get bored compared to other anime. But it is a good watch.

I agree. This movie is really good. It is a little slow though. For example, I didn't feel I needed to watch Chihiri hesitantly walk down the stairs to the boiler room, etc. because it wasn't really that relevant. But still, it reminds me of alice in wonderland, so I like it.

All of Miyazaki's works are excellent. Seach for Studio Ghibli or Miyazaki and you will find his other works.

Laputa Castle in the Sky
Porco Rosso
Kiki's Delivery Service
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Whisper of the Heart
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

..amongst his best known.

I liked Howl's Moving Castle a lot, but I hear a lot of people didn't care for it so much. Eh, well. But when I first saw Spirited Away, even though a lot of it was strange to me, I was fascinated and wanted to watch it over and over. Fortunately for me, two different stations around the same time decided to air Miyazaki's work so I got to see all sorts of good things. I now own four of his films, a lot considering the price. It's not something you find on sale. My husband's been working up my collection occasion by occasion, birthday, Christmas, etc.

Oh, and my daughter got to see My Neighbor Totoro (I think I got that right) and liked it, but I have yet to have the pleasure. Here's hoping for another cable film festival.

I think it's a great anime film. I like studio ghibli so I've seen most of the anime films made by them.

This movie is so wonderfully made! It's like a japanese Alice in Wonderland.

I bought a copy of My Neighbor Totoro last night (along with the first two volumes of Ouran High School Host Club). I love Miyazaki films!

Spirited away was the first Miyazaki film I have seen. It is really great. It gives me a nice feeling and makes me feel happy.

I also like Laputa Castle in the Sky, it gives a similar kind of feeling.

For some reason, Miyzaki's films really touch me.

I loved watching Spirited away. It was so wonderfully weird! I have to say though that I preferred Howl's moving castle (it had more of a storyline) and I absolutely loved my neighbour Totoro! Also, with Spirited away, try (If you can stand it) to watch it in Japanese with English subtitles... Bits of the story line change and make more sense! Even my Brother said so!

I saw this movie when it first came out in Japan in 2001. (at the cinema) ... having been a fan of Ghibli for quite a few years before that. And yes. It's a great movie.

I wish I could go to Ghibli-bijutsukan (the museum) in Mitaka -- but I never got that far east when living in Japan! bummer.

I think that it's good that it won an Oscar -- although a shame that it took two years, that being only when the English dub came out. It would have been better for the Academy to have had some acknowledgement for all those wonderful Japanese voice actors who were involved in the original version.

I wasn't quite won over by this, which surprised me given all the hype. My favourite Ghibli films are Princess Mononoke and Grave of the Fireflies.

Miyazaki is the only anime I can watch, and it is amazing stuff. Definitely watch the stuff of his being recommended.
