My favorite cartoon is 12 Oz. Mouse because it is the only cartoon that is as confusing and nonsensical as real life.

Archer is my current favorite. I have a thing for shows with no redeemable characters.

tennessee tuxedo, and tooter turtle - just remembered about rocky & bullwinkle also. cartoons of the 60s in general, they have a good balance of hipness and silliness.

I laugh my ass off over Archer! Jon Benjamin (who voices Archer, as well as Bob in Bob's Burgers) is a comic genius.

i liked tom and jerry cartoons most of all.

the following is my favorite cartoon of all time. it would not pass the TV codes of conduct in this day and age. it is extremely violent, but in a very funny way.
the whole cartoon is non verbal, but i understand what the characters mean because of the brilliant musical score. it is amazing that a musical composer managed to write such a brilliant score that perfectly fits with the action. i am not sure why the cartoon is back to front. maybe because it eludes the google scanners that would reject it for copyright reasons.

my second favorite cartoon was "betty boop" which was produced in the 1930's.
the best episode in my opinion is the following clip.
it is quite creepy in some scenes (toward the end). it is very imaginative and surreal.

i do not really like modern cartoons because they try to emulate real life albeit with crazy plots like the simpsons which is a parody of real life rather than a complete excursion from reality like old cartoons were.
