This is the first part of an episode of the Steve Wilkos show. It is entitled ?I Hate You Daddy.? First I?m not defending this pedophile?s behavior and actions, so let?s get this straight right now. Second, I see something wrong with this on so many different levels. The first thing that I see wrong is an eleven year old little girl is brought on national TV in such a horrible emotional state. Why? Why was this episode of the Steve Wilkos show allowed to go on? How did bringing her on national TV help her to heal?

Second, why did this little girl?s relatives allow this to happen? What were they thinking here? What was the point of them allowing this traumatized little girl to come on the show?

Third, if this man is truthfully a pedophile then why didn?t Steve Wilkos stop the taping of the show, call the police and have him arrested and thrown in jail? Steve Wilkos said he used to be a cop and he would?ve thrown this pedophile in jail. Why didn?t Steve Wilkos do this? Why was this pedophile allowed to go home?

Fourth, this show is a popular show. Knowing this and knowing how Steve Wilkos would treat me why would I even show up to be on the show? Why would I sign on the dotted line? This is what I would be thinking.

Finally, most people in America claim to be Christian?s, right? This little girl hates her father for what he did to her. Isn?t hatred of a person anathema to Jesus Christ?s teachings? According to the bible all of us have come short of the glory of God, right? This man?s sin was heinous indeed but if we?re all sinners according to God and the bible then how can we hate anyone for sinning if we all have a sinful nature?

I say unto the whole country ?he who is without sin, please cast the first stone.? My first inclination is to want to beat this guy?s ass but should I? It is true that we are supposed to hate something otherwise why would a person be given the ability to hate in the first place. We are supposed to hate the sin, the sinner is supposed to be punished according to God?s will, but we are supposed to forgive the sinner.

Steve Wilkos and his show portray himself as this white, gallant, knight who is out to slay the evil dragon. The presentation does not always match reality. I believe the answer to my question lies in ratings and people?s 15 minutes of fame. Wilkos does not care about this little girl at all. He only cares about his ratings and make sure his show brings in high profit. The man is an opportunist. This little girl?s family members wanted their 15 minutes of fame even though they may love and care for this little girl.

This is a disturbing trend of our decaying, hustling-based society. People are willing to go for the lowest common dominator to achieve their 15 minutes of fame and to make their money. We claim to be a Christian nation, yet, we condone all kinds of behavior to chase after fame and the almighty dollar. Mammon has become our God. We are a nation whose hearts has turned to stone. There is no empathy, love or kindness in this country. Our nation tramples and exploits the weak and we pretend to care about the poor but in the end we truthfully do not. I hate what our country has become.

P.S. What drove this little girl to go on the Steve Wilkos show? Why did she believe Wilkos was the only one who can help her? What kind of help and therapy was she getting? Something does not smell right here.

I just it's shock, "reality" TV. It's tabloid journalism multiplied exponentially.

I don't watch that crap. I'm not even sure if the stories presented on the show are true. Maybe it's like professional wrestling--who knows?

It's "Jerry Springer," with a self-righteous edge to it. At least "Jerry Springer" has no moral pretensions. It is what it is, unabashedly.

Your entire post cubedemon6073 speaks the truth 100%! It encourages me to see that others also see what's right and what's wrong. I too hate what our country has become. Unless there is a spiritual revival, it will get worse. A lot worse, as I'm sure you'd agree cubedemon6073.

That's pretty spot on cubedemon6073, I found his shows pretty hard to sit through, but pretty terrified of sounding like I condone pedophiles.

Oh give me a break with that "Honor thy mother and father" nonsense. I don't think it's good for anyone to hide or deny their true feelings for someone who did something so horrible to them, even their own family. For example I once read about a lady who as a kid was put on medication for ADD and it improved her school performance and other things really well, but her mother thought she should be taken off of it and put on some weird, strict diet where she basically wasn't allowed to eat anything that's normal for a kid, not even during a holiday or a birthday, and if she got caught she would get punished. Her grades at school went down and she had all kinds of problems but her mother blamed her and not the diet or not giving her conventional medication. She had a number of neighbors and friends who let her eat what she wanted while she was visiting but when she got home she was forced to lie about eating anything because her mother would punish her if she so much as drank a can of Pepsi. She sincerely thought she was going to go to hell because she lied and didn't respect her parents but she went through hell because of what her mother forced her to do. Even as an adult she said she and her mother don't get along and her mom is still always some some weird health fad, like for example she thought just being near any source of electricity was bad and her daughter had to unplug everything when she visited. And of course her father was clueless.

Yes, I get it, disobeying your parents is supposed to be a huge sin, even if they tell you to do something you know is wrong or constantly makers your life miserable. (not that my parents ever would).

I may be wrong and other Christians can correct me if they desire.

Please take a look at Jesus's answer to a certain question.

Quote:
Matthew 22:36-40

King James Version (KJV)

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Like the order of operations in mathematics this establishes an order of precedence in the order we're supposed to obey God's commandments. We are supposed to love and obey God above anything else. Look up the story of king Nebuchadnezzar. If an authority figure's commandment including one's parents goes against what God commands according to what Jesus says and the story of king Nebuchadnezzar one is authorized by God to go against that particular commandment but a certain amount of submission and respect is still supposed to be displayed. .

I may be wrong here but I believe the Pharisees had certain rituals they went by that was commanded by God in the Old Testament. What the Pharisees did wrong was disobeyed the two commandments that Jesus considered the highest of priorities. They did not love God nor love others.

This is the order of operations established by God:

{{{Love God} Love Others} Obey all other commandments}

One has to do the inner parentheses first and go out from there.
