How good are you at the TV show: Jeopardy? How many questions on average do you get right?

For me, every time I watch this show, I feel like it's the biggest nightmare towards my self esteam in the lines of overall knowledge about current events and I've actually gotten depressed after watching the show a few times before. Most of the questions are about things I don't know anything about, and even the few topics I do have some knowledge about I still find the questions to be hard. I usually get only about 1-2 questions right if I'm lucky while other people watching the show often get at least 5-10. As the show closes, I always wonder if I actually dumb or weather it's normal to feel this way. On the other side of the coin, it makes me wonder how other people have the capability of learn so much in a span of time they've lived so far and if it's normal for people to know that much.

Depends on the categories. I would say about 15 per day on average. There are certain categories i don't have a clue on, such as those for literature or classical music.

I am terrible at trivia type information. So, I don't know many Jeopardy answers unless it is a topic that I know really well. For me, information has to fit together like a puzzle and in a way I can see all the threads moving through the information tying it all together. Otherwise, I forget it. But, the stuff I learned by seeing the threads, I will know forever and only need little brush-ups to bring it all rushing back. I still remember high school chemistry 20+ years later...

I know nothing about any topics having to do with entertainment and pop culture. Part of this is due to my poor ability of being able to remember names (of actors or movie titles.)

I enjoy watching Jeopardy, though. I just won't remember anything about it. My husband, on the other hand, is a sponge for soaking up random facts.

the word games I am crap with. but most of the questions they ask I can answer but never as fast as the timer requires. it takes me a while to come up with the answer half the time.

I had to live with a person that watched it religiously. If I got one question in a week, I got pritty excited. Can't believe I would ever want to watch it. Thanks alot. Now I have daily double noises stuck in my head.

I have to say that I do okay on Jeopardy. I usually get about 1/4 to 1/3 of the questions right per game. I usually excel best on categories related to entertainment, pop/rock music, animals, word play, and geography. I do a lot better on Kids' Week, where the questions are much easier due to the contestants being children.

Like everyone else it depends on the category for me, also the level of the question - I can often do quite well in many categories on the easier (lower dollar value) questions but choke after that. I really respect people who are smart enough to go on the show, especially when you consider that between the three contestants, probably 75% of the questions if not more are usually answered correctly. That's far more than me and the two smartest people I know could ever do. And if I had to be an actual contestant on the show, I'm afraid I'd get trounced just from having to buzz in on the questions, since it takes me a second or two usually to even realize that I know the answer.

having to memorize and internalize all the rules is too much for me, and having to have fast reflexes on that signaling device is too much for me as well.

I have an 80-90% correct rate. I am about the 7th biggest know-it-all in the world.

I'd say I'm good enough.

I am a monster to play Jeopardy! against. Literally everyone I've ever watched it with (except for my brother) has basically refused to ever play me again.

That is to say I'm good at it, not that I'm a sore loser or something.

I'm decent.

I guess the best way to describe my "skill" is that I have a buddy who applied to get on Jeopardy and was very close to being good enough to be on it, but didn't quite make it. I used to do team bar trivia with that dude and I was a clear #2 (out of 5) on the team but was at minimum a full step behind where he was at.

I'm probably better now than I was then, having additional years of "knowledge" and no longer blazing weed all day every day, but I doubt it's by a wide margin.
