Yes, I quite like American movies....Bladerunner, Total Recall, Matrix and Star Wars movies, Robocop, Terminator are amongst my favourites. Only non-English one I can think of is Akira.

Fernando Meireilles is a Brazilian director, so the film is from Brazil.

Off the top of my head...

Mirrormask. (UK.)
Tripplets of Belleville. (France.)
The City of Lost Children. (France.)
Strings. (France. PUPPETS, YAY!)
Night Watch. (Russia.)
Kung Fu Hustle. (China. YAY! STEPHEN CHOW!)
Shaolin Soccar. (China.)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. (Japan.)
A Very Long Engagement. (Actually with this one there's some debate if it's technically French or if it's American...it was fincanced by American companies, but it's in French, shot entirely in France by a French director, and an entirely French cast & crew. Whatever...it's a great film. And yeah, it's by the guy who did Amelie, City of Lost Children, etc.)
Amelie. (France.)
Avalon. (Poland/Japan.)
Hero. (China.)
House of Flying Daggers. (China.)
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. (China.)
Joyeux Noel. (France.)
