Wow, that's a tough one. Maybe '12 Angry Men' (1957). From one set with 12 nameless characters on a $3 million budget (in 2014 dollars), it made a profound statement not only about the American legal system, but the country itself at the time. Like many great films, it was a box office failure that is now appreciated as a classic.

Still my all time favorite film and the Criterion looks amazing. I think it was way ahead of it's time and I really like Howard Shore's synth score.
