So, I just saw the season premiere. I thought it was fantastic.

The early scene at the trough was brutal and a bit off-putting, but then it got really good!

Carol is such a badass and I love the treatment of Tyresse. I like the whole gentle-giant thing they're doing with him. It's a lot different than his character in the comics, but very interesting just the same. I liked that 'tackle' he made. That was a reference to his comic character--a retired pro football player.

The scene at he trough was definitely a bit hard to watch. But that's the nature of "The Walking Dead." They're always trying to push the envelope when it comes to shocking the audience.

The scene where Daryl and Carol flew into each others arms was heavy. (I almost cried, I'm not ashamed to admit.)

Yeah, Daryl and Carol's reunion was nice. There was some discussion that Daryl might be 'outed' as gay this season, but I don't think that's gonna happen. I think it would piss off too many female fans and Carol/Daryl shippers.

I'm glad they won't spend the whole season escaping from Terminus, though Gerald is still out there.

I wonder where Beth is?

I liked this one, too, but what's left to cover? We've already had a few failed safe havens and a lot of interpersonal drama, so I'm interested to see what this season's all about.

A different audience of shippers would be delighted. :P

lol watched the premier with my Mum. later she asked me if i thought the guy would really have killed Judith, i said, "as far as walking dead goes...with that whole Terminus bat to the head deal...I seriously doubt they would EVER kill a baby onscreen. ....But maybe they MIGHT imply it off screen--however that might be when the show is ready to go, like one last final kaboom."

what i wanna know is...when they gonna get the hell outta Georgia?!

So far the first two episodes of this new season are interesting, lets just hope it doesn't slow down and we get 4 or 5 episodes in the middle of the season just to fill out the time, like it happened in season 2 and 3.
But what the show needs now is to kill off a main character, like Maggie.

BTW, there is something I don't get, it's an AMC show, meaning cable, meaning they are not allowed to drop the F-bomb or sow nudity, but it's ok to show over the top gory violence, a level of violence that sometimes you don't even see in films, a level of violence that the MPAA would give an Nc-17 and demand cuts to get an R.
Anyway, I still love the show.

I was genuinely surprised to the point of being shocked when it turns out Gerald and those other cannibal pricks were eating Tyrese' sister's new boyfriend alive in episode two.

Maggie is too hot to die!

However, it does appear that they are roughly following the storyline from the comics... So, expect a major character death once we meet a guy named Negan.

As far as 'over-the-top' goes... I thought the hunter's dinner was a bit over done. :eew:

Correction: the guy's name is Gareth.

Also Father Gabriel is the biggest wimp in the zombie apocalypse.

There's no guarantee that the show will follow to comics to a tee. In fact there's no guarantee of Negan showing up in season 6 (though I think to say it's a safe bet).

Sorry, I got two different names crossed in my head.

Yeah, the graphic scenes are getting disturbing. But the story is definitely moving and interesting.

Last season it was smoking zombies, and now its flaming ones. That explosion of the propane tank was a cool scene. I wasn't a real fan of Carol for most of the series, but the last episodes of last season and these new ones have me liking her character more.

Poor Bob! 8O But what is up with that guy? Or was up. Why was he crying? Its like there is something terrible in his past. My guess, and its a long shot is that he had done some cannibalization himself before joining up.

Rick's the boss, but he made a bad mistake not having guards posted outside the church. This was the sort of lapse he warned his son about.

My guess is that the new guy/pastor locked himself in church and at beginning of epidemic did not let other surviviors in out of fear or panic.

No not Maggie! What Goonsquad said.

Tyrese is getting better developed, finally. I hope that doesn't mean we lose him.

It's worth mentioning, the tv show is absolutely tame compared to the comics when it comes to brutality. Remember when Michone tortured the Governor? In the comics they dedicated an entire book just to that scene, and it got to near-Hostel levels of gruesome. The spoon...sweet Jesus, what she did with that spoon.

I was actually expecting more from the trough scene. I'm not sure what, but after all the build-up they did with the ads I was expecting their stay in Terminus to last longer and be a bit more horrifying. Thankfully, it seems they haven't abandoned the cannibals. Please bare in mind, I haven't got to episode 2 yet. I will later tonight.

My theory as to why Bob was crying is that he was bitten at the food bank...

Hmm - - does that mean the cannibals are f*cked?

I'm sure the comics are good and all... but they're welcome to keep whatever they did with that spoon to themselves. :eew:
