Cannot find a thread on this, which surprises me... maybe there are no other Potter admirers here? or maybe the thread just died a while ago and I missed it. Either way, are there any other Potter fans on the board? It has been one of my interests since 2001 and I have been involved in most areas from simply reading the original books, to reading and writing fanfiction to roleplaying for 12 hour stretches on yahoo messenger. God, I miss that roleplay but lost my rp partner. So, who else likes Harry Potter and if so, what aspects of it?

I just like it in general.

I'm a fanfiction writer.

I write at www.fanfiction.net. yah might want to look for the author Doctor of Writing. that's me. I have only one Harry potter thing in there, but it's hard to find. It's a part of a mega crossover novela that I tend to do.

Me, my mom, and my sister are all diehard fans. We're desperately awaiting the seventh book this summer.

While we're on the subject, did anyone else hear that Daniel Radcliffe wants Harry to die at the end of the next, and last, book? He said he'd be willing to do a death scene if that happens. Just wanted to tell you.

Big fan here. The obsessive side of my Aspergers shines thru when talking about HP. As soon as I read a book, or see a movie, or play a game, I have to then read all the books again, and watch all the movies again, and play all the games again. Its so easy for me to get sucked into that world.

Ah, sounds oh so familiar, lol. Yes, the same happens to me. Ifrequently want to re-read the books again, but still have to get round to it, but I have watched the movies many times, especially the 1st and 3rd. What does everyone think about Snape, then? And what is everyone's favourite characters...or the characters they find most interesting, anyways?

You're talking to a huge fan here.

BTW, look at this:

Anyone get that reference? Funny, huh?

Anyways, can't wait for Book 7. I'm both happy that i can obtain closure with the series, and sad as well. But aren't we all?

156 days, 2 hours, 53 minutes remaining until HP7!

Roxas

PS: SEVERUS SNAPE MUST DIE!

There have been many threads, but they've all been buried by now. XD So it's all good.

I adore HP. I CANNOT WAIT FOR JULY! A NEW HP BOOK AAAAAND A NEW HP FILM IN THE SAME FRIGGIN' MONTH!

Best news I've heard in a while.

Oh, and my favorite characters? Lupin, Luna, and Tonks.

I'm not an HP fanatic but I've really enjoyed the books and the movies. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke > the Harry Potter series in my opinion though HP is a very close second.

<runs away from incensed HP fans....>

Heh, I cannot wait for the final book but will be disappointed I think when it is all finished and all that will be left will be the forum debates, the fanfiction and the remaining films...oh, and re-reading the books. It is odd as in truth, at times, I enjoy the fanfiction more than the original books

The only problem i have with the seventh book coming out is that i have to read all the other ones again, before i can read it, i shall be extremely sleep deprived, and whenever there's a bit with Sirius in it i shall probably start crying (why do they always have to kill off my favourite character?) That and the whole world will go crazy, as much as i enjoy reading Harry Potter books, i am instinctively mistrustful of things that are very popular, it's good, but it's not that good.

Then why do you post? Obviously you're in denial.

I greatly enjoy Harry Potter. As a "litguy," (a college literature professor, if you don't know), I see the parallels between Harry and the Arthurian legend and it makes it all the more interesting for me. In Morte D'Arthur (the death of Arthur), by the way, Arthur and his mortal enemy die together in combat, but Arthur is taken away to an island by a barge of beautiful women, a passing through death into a new life.

The same thing happens to Sherlock Holmes, locked in death with Moriarty as they fall off a cliff together.

We'll see about Harry.

I find Snape very interesting. He, of course, has always been an ambiguous character. In the end of the last book, Harry observes that he has cast Dumbledore out a window to his death...but...Harry has always been wrong about his observations of Snape from the first book when Snape is saving him with a spell and Harry thinks that he is using a spell to hurt him. Perhaps Harry has, once again, been confused by his own observations.

That's just my speculation. Only J. K. Rowling knows for sure...until July.

Sometimes, when I'm explaining the term NT to NT's, and I'm telling them that "typical" is not necessarily a compliment, if they're Harry Potter fans, I compare it to "muggle."
