Are The Silence Real? (Whovians)

Hm, that's funny. I just forgot what I was going to post. Oh, I looked at the title and remembered. The Silence. They edit themselves out of your memory so that if you see them, you forget. They've been watching over and controlling us since the dawn of civilization. I believe they are real, but does anyone else?

"Doctor Who" is fiction, so are Daleks, Sontarans, Cybermen, Gallifreyans, and The Silence.

If they're not real what was under that blanket in Pink's room?

Or is this a thread about ghosts. Never seen one myself. Not really interested in the supernatural.

Why do they do that?

If they exists, then that must mean that someone that knows about them managed to have them appear in Doctor Who, which would be impossible since the whole point about the silence is that you are only supposed to remember them while you look at them(how that is supposed to make it easier to confess sins to them, I have no idea). And you are also supposed to forget the mere image of them, which means that we would not be able to remember the depiction of them on screen. So I will say that they do most likely not exist(I am not saying that it is impossible, but that's only because I am a very relativistic person).

Another question, however, are whether or not something that can delete its existence from peoples memories do exist. I mean, if something like that existed how would you know?
(I am not saying that something like that exists, since we are not in the Doctor Who episode"Listen").

I don't really know what you're talking about, but I think a being could exist and delete its self from the memory of anyone it encounters if it has the power of telepathy and mind control. If it had the power to make you instantly enter the realm of blackout drunkness, and then exit without a trace. Aren't aliens supposed to do this to us when we're abducted. Only some people do remember it and others don't believe them.
