Have you ever noticed that all SciFi movies have a reccuring theme when it comes to displaying Big Space Explosions/Implosion/Both?

There is the Circular doghnut:
Big flash of light, a ball in the middle, and a circle of evvent horizon spreading out to infinty.

There is the Double ConE Houre Glass Figure.
Flash of light, a mid piont, and two cones that touch tips, expanding in size.

and... theres are more shapes.. I just can't think of any!

maybe you could.

I definitely know the first one. I believe it's commonly known as the "Praxis Effect", and we have Star Trek VI to thank for that. I think it's also seen in Stargate, and the special editions of Star Wars IV and VI.

Not sure about the second one...could you give an example?
