Ive seen some of True Life's specials and think their pretty good, and its pretty cool that they're gonna let people take a walk in these people shoes. If you've ever seen this series you would know it doesn't make fun of the people, but tries to educate the mainstream a bit about the topic. I know it wont go that in depth about AS but im still very interested in how others are dealing with it. Really, the only thing I'm iffy about that the kids will not make AS look like something made up, which i think would be pretty hard so im not that concerned.

As much as I hate MTV, I am going to withold judgment on the documentary until I see it.

I thought about this, and have come to the conclusion that the reason for the documentary may be that we're exposed to mainstream culture more than we may have been in the past. Meaning, we're now in "mainstream" classrooms being educated and holding down jobs instead of being institutionalized. Therefore, mainstream society may need to be educated to know that we're not unfeeling freaks just because we're not exactly like them.

Then again, they may turn this into an entertainment piece.

Unfortunately, my "Super Sweet 16" wouldn't have made for good entertainment though. I just sat around eating pizza and smoking weed with a couple of friends.
