All the kids these days think she's a main character but she's in fact Peter Pan's minion

She didn't even talk until she got a spin off series.

I  Tinkerbell! I guess she's what I read is called a "breakout" character - when a minor character becomes a main character. Other famous cartoon characters were originally a minor character as well, like Woody Woodpecker and Popeye and even Bugs Bunny.

I have the Disney Fairies dolls and a plushie of Tink and books and posters. When the Sims 3 Supernatural came out I had to create a Sim of Tink, and her long-lost sister Periwinkle

And I've seen the Disney adaption and read the original book of Peter Pan and Wendy. I used to think Tinkerbell's tinkering-mending-utensils ability was made up by Disney, but in the book Peter Pan tells Wendy "She's called Tinkerbell because she mends the pots and kettles". :)

I still remember watching The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday evenings when Tink would fly around the Disney Castle before the show started. It was cool. 8)
