Maybe im a bit slow, but im not really sure how we're supposed to "use" this thread.
My favourite episode was "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man" as that was just a work of art in terms of character developement.

I actually got my blog back now but I found it interesting you thought that. I didn't care for that episode much. It was one of my least favorite.

I found it to be so good because it did a very good job of showing the other side. I felt it did wonders in moving CSM from a sorta one-dimensional villain into an actual person. Showing the story, hopes and aspiriations of a person. The meeting before the christmas holliday was good with the rather awkward interactions CSM had with his co-workers made a good point of showing that even a shadowy organization such as the Syndicate also involves a lot of mundane office stuff. Also that CSM is sorta awkward.
But what I found to be the best part of that episode was the scene where he receives the letter from the publishers regarding his book. That desperate, almost pathetic way he opens the letter is just an amazing scene. It shows how much he wants to be something else, and just alone how he really is. I feel the episode shows that he is a lonely, vulnerable person as much as everyone else, not just this sorta of all powerfull villain.

It resonates pretty well with me as my "normal" face is pretty rough and "invulnerable" while deep inside im a quite vulnerable and sensitive aspie.

My favorite episodes were those that were filmed in the forests in British Columbia, Canada. And, that says a lot considering that many of the series and movie locations included Utah sites and references. Some say that creator Chris Carter sprinkled Utah references (not least was Scully's transfer to the Salt Lake City FBI office in Fight the Future) in his work because bees and beehives are his symbols of alien colonization of Earth. Honeybees and beehives are also symbols of Utah and are featured on its flag. Utah has long had its own UFO culture (dwarfed, of course by Area 51 just across its border with Nevada). Utah's largest employer is the U.S. military (bio weapons, F-16s, logistics, translation services). Even the Cigarette Smoking Man retired to the Four Corners area before he was "terminated."

The X-Files ranks so high on my interests list, that I created the neologism "UFOs" for it shortly after its series premier. What was I watching? UFOs! What are these DVDs? UFOs! You can't get higher praise than an Aspie's neologism.

I'm excited about the reboot too! I was part of the fandom before it happened, so we were all hashtagging to try and show support.

Does anybody else think of Fox Mulder as Aspie-like? He gets very fixated and obsessed on things and often lashes out randomly when upset. I have the same Myers-Briggs as him :D

When I take the test it has a list of fictional characters with that type. I guess people profile characters based on behavior in the show.

Most of my favorite episodes all fall within the greatest season X-Files has ever had: Season 4! Unruhe, Home, Field Where I Died, Paper Hearts, Leonard Betts, Small Potatoes, etc. That was the peak of the show IMHO. Lot of great episodes after, but nothing that came close to the creative talent involved in that fourth season. Well, now that I talked it up I know what I'm watching tonight!! !

One of my favorite episodes was a season 2 episode (episode 3 I think) about a mutated, humanoid like fluke worm attacking people to use as hosts (can't remember the actual name of the episode, the name escapes me at the moment). I thought the monster was really cool and creepy looking, and its one of the few episodes that take place in my home state of New Jersey.

I've always enjoyed the one-off episodes way more than the story arc ones -- probably for the same reasons that I was never able to get into Lost. Seasons 3 and 4 were definitely my favorite.
