My apologies if someone has started this type of thread in the past, but I thought it would be interesting to post about television shows (from anywhere in the world) that you knew would be doomed after watching only one episode.

I'll start the list with
Hostages (ran on US TV less than six months)
Revolution (Took two seasons for ratings to taper, but I knew it wouldn't make that critical third season needed for later syndication.)

"Whitney" - Created by Whitney Cummings, who also created "Two Broke Girls". It was just too much like too many OTHER shows, IMO.

Shows that I wish had NOT flopped: "Merlin", "Harry's Law", "Harper's Island", and "Revolution".

They absolutely RUINED "Harry's Law" and "Revolution" by changing directions, midstream. "Harry's Law" was an extremely EXCELLENT show, IMO, in the first season----unlike ANYTHING else!!

"Merlin" was ahead of its time----considering how well "Game of Thrones" has been received.

"Harper's Island" was a mini-series, ANYWAY----why cancel it?----let it run, to completion.

Shows that I wish WOULD flop: "The Odd Couple" (2015) - Matthew Perry is a ridiculously BAD actor; though, the guy who plays Felix, is FABULOUS.

Bad Judge, Bad Teacher, The Playboy Club, Selfie: I knew those would derail and I didn't even watch any of them.

Katie: Too many depressing subjects.

Thanks for the inputs.
I would also have to add the last Newhart series simply called "Bob". It was a "one-season wonder" and I knew after seeing the first episode it wouldn't be back for a second. Just wasn't up to the quality of his previous two series.

Yeah, when Talk Shows go "that way", they're doomed----that's why there's no more Riki Lake, or Sally Jesse Raphael. Queen Latifah's FIRST Talk Show was cancelled, IMO, for the same reason.

When I heard the plot of The Following, I thought it wouldn't last long, especially the hype before the first episode.

The early 2000s reboot of The Twilight Zone. That version just sucked.

Almost any reboot of a classic TV show. Fantasy Island in the late 90's (trying to be darker and edgier, failed), Charlies' Angels, The Twilight Zone...

I've already seen a couple of ads for new fall series and I can tell in only the 30 seconds they've shown us that they are going to be awful.
