If it (and South Park) go off the air, not sure what I will do.

In my opinion, South Park has gotten better over the years and The Simpsons has got worse.

Both ending would still be satisfying. Can't take a leaf out British TV series book and kill it in its prime

Hopefully yes. It's been too long since it lost its humour at beginning of a new century.

It's sad to see Family Guy doing the same in my opinion.

The crossover was good, but long LONG overdue!

American Dad! seems to be getting better and funnier too! Again, in my opinion. :)

I find it strange when animated characters are around for years and yet they never age. If they added that to the mix after a few seasons when they first started, it wouldn't look like they are constantly repeating themselves and they would have more to work with.

I do't believe it'll be ending soon. The producers have said this kind of thing before, but as long as it keeps making money for FOX, it'll probably continue even after the 30th season

They both wore out their welcome years ago. It's for the best. They can still always be enjoyed as reruns.

But I doubt that will happen any time soon because they're cash cows and they are going to be milked until they're bone-dry, proverbially speaking.

I used to love the Simpsons and I really do still like them, but mainly from the older episodes that I used to watch religiously, mostly from seasons 2-5.

Everything goes off the air eventually.

That said, a lot of shows initially banked on being "adult cartoons" The Simpsons is competing with a lot of similar shows that built on the brand of comedy it started, even if it has loyal fans who've grown up with it.

And yeah--if there's money in it, people have motivation to try to keep it on the air.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, The Simpsons should have ended in the late 90s. It was a brilliant show during its first decade. Afterwards... not so much. As for South Park, it's a great show and I'd like to see it go out with a bang, but the people behind it have admitted that it'll more than likely go out with a whimper just to mess with people. Whatever the case may be, while The Simpsons outstayed its welcome once the 90s were over, South Park has managed to remain topical and relevant.

I thought Maggie had already spoken? (in the episode Lisa's First Word I think.) But then I guess nobody heard her say it.
