 Does anybody have a " sneaking fondness " for the " infamous flop " movie HOWARD THE DUCK ? There's going to be screening of a FILM PRINT!! !! ! of it here , this weekend next ( the 25th?? ) and , if I can manage the money , I am so going...
Did anybody like the comic that it was based on ? Published by Marvel - The 70s years are considered the classic . There's an inexpensive B&W volume reprinting basically all of that period .

I used to watch it all the time when I was little. I think USA network in the US used to play it late at night all the time.

Saw the movie. It was good for the first half, but the somewhat cheesy special effects completely ruined it in the second.

If you want to see a really bad talking duck movie, go rent Baby Huey's Great Easter Adventure. 'Nuff said.

I foolishly one night while drunk on cheap beer, saw Baby Huey's Easter Adventure, it was STUPID.

Now, Howard The Duck, that's one of my all time favorite movies, cause it took place in a place called Cleveland that I know very well.

I never read the comic, but I LIKED Howard the Duck, and it hurt me to hear people rip on it. It was a fun movie--at least I thought it was funny--and Lea Thompson was SOOO hot in the '80s.

I remember good ole Howard. :o I think it was sad when Lucas disowned the movie :? i mean he made it so he must have thought it was worthwhile project.
I havn't seen the comics in years though :( I love looking at old comics :)

I'm a big fan of the French/Québec accent, real or fake.

I'm afraid as one who read the old Howard the Duck comics, I had always thought of the movie as a monstrous travesty. But as Howard had appeared at the end of Guardians Of The Galaxy, hopefully we'll see a more faithful film adaption someday. So, no, not a fan of the Lucas film.
