I thought Pontypool and Citadel (2012) were pretty good.

Legend of Hell House (70's movie), not as good as some of the titles mentioned, but it scares just the same.

Richard Matheson in general is good for psychological horror. He wrote some of the best episodes of The Twilight Zone, and I'd recommend movies like The Last Man on Earth (the first and best adaptation of I Am Legend), The Incredible Shrinking Man, and Duel.

The movie adaptation of Hell House was chilling. I'm not sure what they changed for the big screen, but the movie has aged well.

You should try Alfred Hitchcock films, such as "Birds", "Psycho".

Rosemary's Baby-- Old horror film with Mia Farrow. Really suspenseful and intense in a weird psychological way. Don't watch alone or at night 8O
