Fave Animated Films before Pixar

I think it's common knowledge that Toy Story has revolutionized animated films around the world, or at least in the US, for better or for worse. No longer are there that many motion pictures with hand-drawn cels or claymation or other forms of stop-motion. Almost everything's 3-D and CGI nowadays. (TV cartoons followed suit, save for those 2-D cartoons made with Adobe Flash or the like.) So, what are your favorite theatrically released animated movies from before Toy Story's debut (November 22, 1995)? I don't want to discuss animated works in general, so no...
- animated GIFs or memes
- animated television series
- direct-to-video movies
- experimental films only shown at universities
- hybrids of animation & live-action
- made-for-TV movies
- puppet shows
- short films
- theatrical shorts
- examples of web animation

LonelyJar, if you miss old-fashioned drawn, hand painted animation, feast your eyes on anything from Studio Ghibli, particularly the works of Hayao Miyazaki but also some others. They are still putting out traditional animation in the post-Pixar world, and making you remember why it was worth it. Here are my recommendations, from highest to lowest:
- Spirited Away (You must see this one!)
- Howl's Moving Castle
- The Secret World of Arrietty
- Kiki's Delivery Service
- Tales from Earthsea
- Castle in the Sky
- My Neighbor Totoro
- Ponyo
- Princess Mononoke

Also, don't forget to check out some great stop action films from Aardman productions. most of these are using stop-motion animated clay, although I think Chicken Run might have used 3D. I hear there is a Shaun the Sheep movie out but i haven't seen it. From highest rated to lowest (and it's very hard to decide which is best):
- Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
- all Wallace & Gromit shorts
- The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!
- Chicken Run
- Flushed Away

For older stuff, cause i'm not a Disney-only fan
- Yellow Submarine (the colors! the patterns! the music!! !)
- Bambi
- Pinocchio
- Fantasia I and II (so avant guarde and non-story driven, the first one didn't really get the praise it deserved until many years later)
- Lady and the Tramp (always makes me blubber in the dog pound scene. Every. Time.)
- Dumbo
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit
- Prince of Egypt
- Beauty and the Beast
- The Little Mermaid
- Watership Down
- 101 Dalmations

I love we're Back. Also since Pixar my favorite animated film isn't even made by Pixar. It's made by dreamworks.
