I guess if your not a star wars, superman or Spielburg fan the music isnt going to appeal to you but, like George Lucas i believe that 50% of a movie is its sound and music and to me growing up that meant John Williams. There are notable others that have created masterpieces like John Barry(Raise the Titanic), Alan Silvestri(Back to the Future), James Horner(Titanic), but all pale in comparison to the man who has had 45 oscar nominations, a man whos music i would record onto audio tape and listen to when i was only 10. I havnt heard all of Williams music but notable soundtracks include:-

The Posieden Adventure
Jaws
Superman
Starwars Ep I-VI
Indiana Jones
Saving Private Ryan
Shindlers List.......

Each having there own unique quality. I grew up with Star Wars and think the world of it but when it came to the Preguals everyone was saying how bad Menace was but the thing i remember the most was the first time i heard that music in the theatre......ellectric. When Attack of the Clones was released i thought Williams had excelled himself with the music he had created for that movie but went even further when it came to Sith......I have never had a tune going over and over again in my head so many times. I may not be a huge Indiana Jones fan but when i here that music....Im gone. Its what you could say as extremely visual and fantasifull music that can send you into a galaxie far far away or to the misery of our own worlds holacuast.

If only he had got to compose for James Cameron on Titanic then it would be perfect.

John Williams is awesome. I always applaud when I see his name in the credits. It's kinda like always laughing at the wrong time.

I'm not his biggest fan--I'm more of a Danny Elfman sorta guy--but some of his stuff's great. I really like some of his work for the "Harry Potter" films.

Though I respect the scope of some of Willams work, I have to say I feel he plagiarises alot of his better known material, listen to the English composer Gustav Holst, in paticular Mars: Bringer Of War from his orchestral suite, The Planets, it sounds very similar to the Star Wars Imperial Theme.
