I don't know if anyone watches anything on HBO. I/we don't subscribe but I rented to first season of Rome and the first two seasons of Deadwood.. I really liked Rome because it gave a better feel then the very unhistorical but still awesome Gladiator. Deadwood is a umm...modern adult western (although adult meaning not for kids rather then something on Cinemax).

Good stuff.

I saw a bit of Rome. I heard that it's not really THAT historically accurate....

True enough. But more so then most, it's done very um...British-ly which I like. When I watch a lot of ancient/classical world stuff on TV or at the movies I feel like I'm being in the the face. It's annoying. With Rome it's respectful. It's dignified; in a sleazy sort of way.

I have Rome on the list of movies I'm ordering from my online movie service. It looks promising!
