I am working up in DC this week, and I went to a busy shopping area near my hotel at 14th and P street. to eat dinner and get some provisions at the grocery store. It looks to be a rather up and coming, affluent part of town from the people around...the area was quite busy with young, affluent twentysomethings all round. An interesting thing I noticed about many of the white, well dressed and trendy men was that they had one trouser lege rollec up, and the other not. I've never seen this before in my little conservative town of Richmond 100 miles to the south. Is there some sort of meaning to it, like the Men's earring arrangements years ago, or the "hankey" codes indicated by what pants legs are rolled up or anything? At first I thought it was a "wardrobe malfunction" on the first guy I saw like that, thinking that his other cuff came unrolled and he didn't know it, but then I started seeing several other guys with the same bit. I didn't pay attention to which leg was cuffed and which one was not though.
One thought I had though was that since the area is a big bicycling area, that they had done that to keep their loose pants legs from getting dirty on the chain sprockets, but that's the aspie in me thinking too much into the situation, and also thinking NT's have enough smarts to think of something logical like that!
