Not sure if there's already a topic on this. I have yet to see this movie but I hear Sigourney Weaver plays a woman with ASD in it. Here's the link:

I keep meaning to buy it. Weaver did spend some time with an autistic lady in the Uk as part of her research for the role...read an interview with both in a uk paper.

I'd like to see it, as well. However, the trouble is that if people see one character on the spectrum, they think that's the norm for all of us.

I do not mind this film, though it sort of seemed like the guy Alan Rickman played was really good for helping the character Sigourney weaver played. Emily Hampshire played my fave character though. It has some good moments.
I much prefer it to Rain man, but thats not saying much.

It was supposed to come out back in December for Oscar qualification but somehow it got pushed to a May 4th release here in the US.

What happened?

...Yeh , and I think it might've been a " NY and LA only " release , at that...( I guess it might have been out in Canada before )...

It'll probably go straight-to-DVD anyway.
