This thread is basically a discussion thread on who is Mister Saxon, the head villain who is played by John Simm, and due to make an appearance in the final two episodes of this season of Doctor Who, the two episodes being The Sound of Drums and The Last of the Time Lords[/i]....

So, who is Mr Saxon? Here are the facts revealed, or can be inferred from the TV series so far....

Mr Saxon's name first appeared on a newspaper in Love & Monsters, and was heard to be the one giving orders to fire on the Racnoss ship in The Runaway Bride. He is mentioned in Smith and Jones. However, his biggest 'participation' to date was in The Lazarus Experiment, where he:

*Funded Dr Lazarus' immortality experiment.

*Manipulated Martha's mother against the Doctor, through one of his agents. He then told Francine Jones more about the Doctor, albeit twisted.

We know from various sources that Mr Saxon is a high-ranking politician. It seems he has ambitions to become PM, in the wake of the Doctor's actions against Harriet Jones in The Christmas Invasion.

The Face of Boe stated that, while the Doctor is the last of his kind, he is not alone. This suggests another Time Lord, or perhaps a former Time Lord....

Now we come to conjecture.

The obvious answer is that Mister Saxon is the Master. There is some evidence to suggest this. Rumours abounded that John Simm was cast to play the Master. And Mister Saxon is an anagram for 'Master No. Six'. (Counting Roger Delgado, Peter Pratt, Geoffrey Beevers, Anthony Ainley, Eric Roberts and now, John Simm)

However, one possibility overlooked may be the Valeyard. This may account for the discrepancies involved in the Face of Boe's statements....

Not sure about Mister Saxon. But I think the not alone part means there are other timelords (with Tardises and hence travelling in time) who have not yet reached the timewars in their lifespan.

Captain Jack is also in the adverts for this Saturday's show - that could be connected.
