I've never seen a Live Action adaptation of a Disney Animated Classic that was actually good. So while I will admit that this trailer was good I can't help but gonna feel disappointed.

Disappointing. I don't understand the artistic purpose of what is essentially remaking the '91 version. Financially I can see why they do it, but would it kill them to take a new narrative/aesthetic direction?

I can see they've tried to make Belle a little less passive, which is fine. The original story is just an allegory of arranged marriage - you might hate your husband at first, but in time you'll grow to love him. Often Belle's intelligence (read: bookishness) is cited as grounds for her being a strong character; this always seemed flimsy to me so if she is more active in the plot that can only be a good thing.

I won't go and see it.

To me, this could be just a boring rehash of the 1991 version or just as great as the live-action version of this year's Jungle Book remake.

Regardless of its reception come March 17th, I plan on seeing this.

It seem Disney want to make disappear traditional animation even more that it is now. :(

I'm more excited to see both the Power Rangers reboot and Logan which both come out the same month as BATB more than this, even though that they could suck. I mean BATB may be a tale as old as time but PR is about a bunch of technicolored superheroes who fight aliens in giant robots and Logan is about a dude with metal claws who goes around stabbing people. Clearly it makes sense that those are the superiors but we'll have to wait and see.

It'll be interesting how this version will do in terms of box office gross because Kong: Skull Island will be in theaters the week before on March 10th, 2017, so BATB will have some stiff competition come March.
