Is anyone here going to watch the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday? If so, who do you think is going to win?

I will not be watching this glorious event, as I will be at work, on a night I'm not supposed to be working.

I have a feeling Israel will win it this year. Everyone I know loves their song.

I have no idea who'll win.
I'll probably watch it though just for fun.

All I know is that it won't be us...

I may cast a glance over it to enjoy Terry's musings though. :D

I'll watch it on Saturday but only really because I'm not going out. Terry's usually good for a laugh but the rest of it's a bloody con. You know everyone will vote for everyone else anyway, so what's the point? The Irish and the Maltese will vote for Britain, we vote for them and all the Eastern European countries vote for each other anyway. It's a waste of time.

They should really split the ESC into two semi-finals (one for Eastern Europe and another for Western Europe), and only 10 of each region can qualify for the final, and in the final, only the finalist countries can vote. Also, let's get rid of the 'big four', it's probably a reason why we aren't doing so well. (ALL of this years semi qualifiers were from Eastern Europe 8O )

We should also bring back the orchestra, so Eurovision artists can have 3 choices: be cheap and use pre-recorded music, use the orchestra, or play their own instruments on stage.

Televoting has also had a negative effect on Eurovision as well. Most televoters are idiots! There should be both a mix of televoting AND specially selected juries.

Terry Wogan is the UK's commentator to Eurovision. Most of the time, he usually gets drunk on G&T and makes fun of the non-UK contestants, while blaming our poor performances on 'political voting'.

All the other European commentators do it very seriously, whereas Wogan just takes the piss. That's what makes it so fun for the British.

oh and the starburst will be lime flavoured, as i always seem to go for the strawberry and orange ones

I want Ireland as it must be their turn to win again and again and again....

Are Switzerland in it? If so I`ll have them too.
My contribution to prize will be a bar of Lindt Excellence.

One country only (except Sopho) so you have Ireland
(I think switzerland were kicked out of the semi-final, but if you really insist! I can let you have it instead of Ireland)
