Any adults who go and see animated movies alone?

I'm asking cause I'm thinking of doing this. There's this animated movie I want to see, and I think tomorrow is my last chance to see it before it's no longer showing, but I have no one to go with and I'm an adult and I'm worried people might be starting at me if they see me there without a family member to use as an excuse. So should I do it?

Depends on the movie.

I'm not an adult yet, but here are my thoughts. I think it's totally fine. I don't know how big your theater is, but like, the one in my town is so big, no one would really notice you alone. If anyone sees you, they'll probably just think your family member is in the bathroom or something.

I have yet to go to the theatre alone. I even invited my mom to watch Moana with me because I didn't want to go alone, but I can't bring her or any other family member for that matter to see Cars 3 or Coco... So I'll probably have to go alone. I'm not so much worried about being mocked for seeing an animated movie alone, as more the accusation of being a loser, even though I am. Then again, I'm 17, not an adult.

I love a lot of children movies. I always feel a little nervous on my own.

If you want to see an animated movie by yourself then go see it, you might be sorry if you don't. I'm 46 & still a Disney movie lover, I got ALOT of Disney movies on VHS & DVDs, I have Lady And The Tramp, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty & more on DVDs.

Don't see why you can't just go and see it, you don't know anyone there so just go see it and try to stop being so nervous. Though these make great excuses to make friends who have kids so you can go take them to the movies.

When I was in college, I went to the movies alone all the time because I was into edgy, artsy movies my friends weren't interested in, and I often liked sneaking into one or two movies after the first one.

I think it's sad that this is a thing, where people feel so self-conscious about going to the movies alone. It's not an ideal social situation anyway, because you'll be sitting side-by-side in a dark theater, not talking. I'm there for the movies, not to show off how social I am. And if I had to count on friends every time I wanted to see anything, I probably would've seen fewer movies I wanted to see, and I would've been dragged to things I didn't, which is a waste of time.

Admittedly, I think the only animated film I've ever seen alone is Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, which probably isn't the type of film you have in mind when you ask this question. I can imagine the issue of going to a theater alone that might have lots of kids in it. I can only speculate, but I imagine you'll be fine so long as you keep to yourself in that situation.

I'm not an adult but almost am in June. And I could see myself going to the theaters by myself a lot of the time. But I've never been to a movie alone. The last movie I saw was Lego Batman and I was in the theater with my mom and 6 year old sister. But I think I could do fine in there alone or with other people. I wouldn't be nervous. I would think it's cool and excited to go alone. And theaters always have better sound, picture, and wider screen than any TV and that's my main reason why I love going to the movies. And don't feel ashamed about seeing animated movies alone. Heck that's pretty much the only movies I watch and buy.
