While it will be sometime away till the movie comes out and for those who want to give it ago it's probably a good idea to check out these movies before you go watch it to get in the mood. Of course you don't have to, heck I probably won't.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)
It was the first Cinematic adventure for the Rangers and while it is kinda a stupid movie you can get a cinematic feel for the Power Rangers.

Chronicle (2012)
The trailer for the movie clearly had a Chronicle meets Breakfast Club (which I haven't seen) feeling as it was about a bunch of teens who find an alien object that grants them powers. Also the director of Power Rangers did direct a found footage movie before called Project Alchemy which I haven't seen. Though the director of Chronicle did direct a superhero movie of his own which unfortunately turned out to be Fantastic Four (2015).

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Peter Parker and the Rangers are teens struggling in high school and dealing with their powers. Not to mention normal stuff like romance. Peter and Gwen are involved in a pretty believable romance and the PR trailer clearly shows a romance between Jason and Kimberly, which is kinda a no no due to the fact that they should have saved her for Tommy. Also the reason I chose this movie over the 2002 movie is because Andrew Garfield's Peter is in High School for the entire movie and Tobey MacGuire's graduates before he even became Spider-Man. Plus it does have more of a feel whereas the 2002 movie feels more well? 2000's.

Thor (2011)
The people who wrote the screenplay for Power Rangers also did Thor, plus if you look back to the trailer you kinda get sort of a Thor feeling. Angel Grove is a small town like the one Thor and the Scientist were in and when you see Rita Repulsa (who kinda looks like a female Loki dressed in green and carrying that staff) walking through the town creating the putties as well as the Megazord doesn't it sort of remind you of the fight with the Destroyer.

X-Men: First Class (2011)
The same people who wrote the screenplay for Power Rangers and Thor also did First Class. The film has Professor X and Magneto gathering a bunch of teens and young adults with powers to fight a threat to humanity. Need I say more.

Transformers (2007)
A movie about two races of alien robots fighting each other on Earth based on a toy franchise and Power Rangers has giant transforming alien robots. Yeah I know a lot people hate this movie but to me it's a fun dumb action flick and not as overly long and as annoying as its sequels.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
There was a time when the Turtles ruled the world with their toys, shows and movies in the late 80's and early 90's before the Rangers took over. They're two team of teenage superheroes with martial art skills who fight the forces of evil. I would have put the 2014 movie as you could argue it has more in common with the new Power Rangers being updated and filled with bad CGI but it's not a good movie.

Pacific Rim (2013)
Where Transformers was about Robots fighting Robots Pacific Rim had Robots piloted by humans fighting alien monsters from another world. Again need I say more.

Can you think of any others and why.
