So I just joined WrongPlanet after my autistic support teacher recommended me to it. I thought it would be a good thing to do since I would get to speak and discuss some of my favorite topics with other aspies and the such. So, as a first random topic, what's everyone's favorite anime? I'm a pretty big anime fan as well as a gamer and a book nerd so I figured I'd ask about one of my favorite subjects. And if possible, I'd also like some recommendations. I can't write down how many I've seen so far due to my vast library of anime I've already seen, but I'll still gladly take recommendations just in case any that I haven't seen peak my interest. I guess I'd also like to get into some nice discussions on favorites with this post as well.

A small list of a few of my favorites include:
Fullmetal Alchemist and FMA Brotherhood
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Death Note
Soul Eater
The World God Only Knows
Psycho Pass
Gurren Lagann
One Punch Man
Mob Psycho 100

Edit: This is a repost as I just noticed that there was a Television, Film, and Video forum and felt that this post would better fit this forum. :)

I've heard of Clannad and how sad it is. I've never seen it yet, but I do plan to. I've seen Angel Beats and god did that one really open up the flood gates. :(

As for manga, I haven't read much, but what I have read so far is Blue Exorcist, Boku no Hero Academia, a little of the Log Horizon manga adaptation, the Another manga adaptation, and I plan on reading The World God Only Knows cuz the anime ended on a really sad note and I wanna see how the plot wraps up.

And oh boy don't get me started on light novels. Every chance I get I end up purchasing the next volume of Spice and Wolf I haven't read from Barnes and Noble.

I have watched so much anime, my current list including the over a 20 or so current shows it stands at around 650 shows. Choosing favourites is becoming hard in. The ones that come to mind for me is:
Kill la Kill
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Kanon
Clannad
Madoka Magica
Re:Zero
School-Live!
Shirobako

^What's Madoka like? I've heard of it, but I don't know much about it.

I loved it. It's also on the long list of my favorites. I found it visually amazing, with a great plot and characters. I showed it to a friend with only a little experience of anime, and he loved it too.

Some parts are scary on many levels. It doesn't have more scary parts than your usual magical girl anime, in the usual sense of battling scary monsters. However, I don't put it in any 'usual' category, if that makes sense; it's special.

^You like Digimon and Studio Ghibli too? :D Do you have a favourite Digimon series or SG movie? [I watch Digimon in Japanese, but prefer the Studio Ghibli movies in English.]
