This is the new series with B-movie hero Bruce Campbell reprising his iconic role as Ash Williams. He once again has to battle the 'Deadites' he last fought in the castle after he toppled Bad Ash and returned to his own time using the book he retrieved.

So far, I have only seen the first episode online. Granted, the acting is forced (wooden) and the humor is decent, but there is plenty of gory moments and acting. The movies on which this series is based are all cult classics, but the first film is the only entry that could be classed as terrifying. The rest are really too amusing to be scary.

My wife and I have been keeping up with the show so far, and I can happily say that it's been loyal to the movies. I'm happy to see that Bruce Campbell has fun with the Ash character in regard to self-deprecating humor.

It's a great continuation of the original trilogy. You can watch it even like separate TV series, if you don't want to watch film of 1981 year. But films are good even for nowadays. They are funny and a little bit scary.

I've been hearing good things about this series. I'll have to check it out.

Well, I assume the S-Mart ending in Army of Darkness is the "proper" one and not the other ending where he takes the potion in the wrong dosage and wakes up with a beard in London.

I love Bruce Campbell. I've seen Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and the new Evil Dead, but I've never actually seen the first one. My favorite of the three I have seen is Army of Darkness.

I saw the first couple episodes and they're fun, but I haven't gotten back around to the series. Again, Bruce Campbell is great. However, the Evil Dead version of zombies was never my favorite... maybe it's that they're too zany. That's probably why Army of Darkness is my favorite in the series - it's more an adventure movie, and the zombies are just the villains, rather than the focus. I'll probably go back to watching the show again, at some point.

Come to think of it, Bruce Campbell's character reminds me a lot of Lux Interior, the singer of The Cramps.
