One of the ATG novels for me, it has everything, the childhood to adulthood transition theme is explored in such an ambitious and wondrous way. You cannot read it without an emotional punch hitting you every couple chapters as you identify with little things that make you delve deeper into the mirror you can hold up and contemplate 'what if I fought something like this... wait maybe I did and still am...' I practically have a second home in my mind that I visit often in that dreadful Derry, Maine. They are not going to outdo tim curry as Pennywise, he just struck the match and lit up an entrancing balance of charm and brutality in pretty much every scene they let him loose in.

I actually hated the book, as Stephen King had committed the ultimate sin by allowing it to become painfully boring, particularly as this tedium was stretched out, as the book was gigantic in size. Still, as this remake looks good, I'll give it a try.

Me too, it didn't intrigue me like the other SK books. The movie was ok but never scared me like it did most people.

I am curious if the remake will.

As the original movie had been made for TV, I can see why it might have been toned down in regard to being scary. Hopefully, this one will scare.

I was honestly a little worried when I saw an early photo of the new Pennywise, but this trailer is really good, so I'm hopeful.

This new version is directed by the same director who directed the 2013 film Mama, which was produced by Guillermo Del Toro.

At one point, GDT was considered as a possible choice to direct this new version by Warner Brothers.

Here's hoping a trailer for the upcoming Dark Tower movie is released soon.
