Is the first Avengers movie an origin story

Usually the first movie in a superhero series or the only is an origin story e.g. Batman Begins, Iron Man, Deadpool and we've had two Superman and two Spider-Man origin stories but sometimes there are non origin stories e.g. Tim Burton's Batman, X-Men and Thor. But where do the Avengers lie? When Watchmojo did their list of Top 10 Superhero Origin Story Movies they didn't include this film. Not even as an honorable mention. I guess it could count as a non origin story seeing as how we know most of these heroes from their past movies though Thor and the Hulk didn't have origin stories but we can get a brief idea. What do you think? I mean if I felt like watching a bunch of non origin story superhero movies back to back should I watch Avengers?
