Which Alien Film Do You Think Is The Best?

IMO, Aliens is the best one in the series.

I'd have to re-watch them, it's been a long time (and I haven't seen the two newest ones yet).

AVP is definitely at the bottom of my list, though =)

I went with the original movie. It was without a doubt one of the scariest scifi/horror movies ever made. The horror element had been lost in the sequels as far as I'm concerned.

Touch call between 1 and 2.

I picked both Alien & Aliens.

It's hard to pick between these two because they really are two different movies. Alien is unquestionably more of a Sci-Fi Horror movie (the golden standard in my opinion) and Aliens is more of an edge of your seat action movie. Either way I like movies with scary/strange monsters and creatures, so they're both winners.

Alien 3 has grown on me as time goes on and I appreciate it a lot more than I used to. Considering all of the elements and problems that were against it very early on, it came out pretty darn good.

Alien Resurrection I appreciate visually and special effects wise, but story wise it isn't very strong.

Prometheus I haven't seen in a while, so I can't really give a strong opinion right now.

Alien Covenant I actually enjoyed quite a bit. The ending I know a lot of people didn't like, but to me it was a creative unconventional choice that in its own way is quite scary.

AVP is okay, but there is a lot of stuff that really doesn't match up with the original films.

AVPR could have been enjoyable if the lighting department had more than a single birthday candle to light the darn thing.

Alien because of its originality. Aliens was excellent and I've probably watched it more often. But you already know about the aliens characteristics and the human looking androids etc. There were no mysteries or surprises along those lines, except maybe the introduction of the queen.

I found the original to be the best as it is the darkest and scariest. It's slower pace gives away a sense of tension that the sequels seemed to lack. aliens, while good, was often too action-oriented and didn't help build up any sort of development for the plot or characters
