I like watching movies with VFX in them, and would like to know if you'd like to recommend any foreign-language films which have cool VFX/CGI in them. I like fantasy, Sci-Fi, and sometimes horror.

Night Watch or NOCHNOI DOZOR

This is a Russian Horror/Fantasy film series about a truce struck between the forces of light and dark to maintain a balance and to stop their endless battles. The Night Watchers are the people on the side of light who have the job of watching the people on the side of darkness such as vampires and witches and making sure they stay within their boundaries.

Also, I did some research and found out that these foreign films have the most VFX in them. All are Indian except for one.

(INDIAN) 2011 - Ra.One - 3000 shots by various studios in India, Vancouver, Ontario, USA, Quebec and South Africa
(INDIAN) 2015 - Puli - 2400 shots by various studios in India, Russia and Ukraine
(INDIAN) 2015 - Baahubali: The Beginning - 2250+ shots by various studios in India, Malaysia, China and South Korea
(INDIAN) 2017 - Baahubali: The Conclusion - 2250+ shots by various studios in India, Iran, Serbia, China, Denmark, USA, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, England and Russia
(INDIAN) 2012 - "Eega", AKA "Makkhi" - 2200 shots by various studios in India, USA and Russia
(CHINESE) 2016 - League of Gods - 2200 shots by various studios in China, South Korea, USA, India, Quebec, Thailand, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Hong Kong and Australia
(INDIAN) 2008 - Dasavatharam - 2000 shots by various studios in India and Thailand
(INDIAN) 2010 - "Enthiran", AKA "Robot" - 2000 shots by various studios in USA, India, Hong Kong, China, England and Iran
(INDIAN) 2012 - Maattrraan - 2000 shots by various studios in USA and India
(INDIAN) 2016 - Kaashmora - 2000 shots by various studios in India and Ukraine

I'm sure that there may be more out there, but that is all that I could find.

Also, apparently the Region 1 DVD of Casshern is almost 30 minutes shorter and the subtitles are mistranslated, so not sure about that one.

I'll stick with the original early 70's anime instead

There is some in that one.

It's a 2002 movie, so those are old effects.

I'm currently learning French, so the Asterix films would probably be helpful. The only one I saw was the Olympic one, which is apparently the most expensive foreign film of all time.

I like old CGI more than current CGI. Dunno why - just the small imperfections that occasionally show up?

I’ve seen ads for Kung Fu Hustle on TV. It was either dubbed in English or they did something else to downplay the “foreignness” of the film. Either way, looks good.
