This was a series that was around from 2005-2009. It's about a petty criminal who loses his winning $100,000 lottery ticket after being hit by a car while he celebrates his good fortune. Following the incident, he learns about karma while in hospital. Convinced he has to turn his life around to be happy, Earl gives himself over to the power of karma. He makes a list of every bad thing and every person he has ever wronged and make efforts to fix them all. After doing a first good deed, he finds the $100,000 lottery ticket that he had lost. Seeing this as a sign of karma rewarding him for his commitment, Earl uses his newfound wealth to do more good deeds according to his list.

Anyone else remember this?

I also sometimes relate to this in the sense that I feel like a pretty terrible person quite often, and I sometimes try to evaluate that and see what I can do to make up for that. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

It was a great show, after it finished the guy who wrote it ended up working in Mcdonalds. But he went onto create another great show called raising hope.

I watched My Name Is Earl. It was fairly funny.

I did get to see a few episodes (no TV of my own for years) It's one of very few shows that I do wish I'd seen more of. What I particularly liked was that, compared to so many other comedy shows, it didn't seem to rely on people being insulting to each other to rack up the "joke count". It was "gentle" somehow, but still really funny.
